Semester is almost done

This is the last week of my semester at school.

I'm almost done with my schoolwork. I am working on the last paper every night. I'm hoping to finish the paper tonight, but worst comes to worst, tomorrow.

In the meantime, I struggle on with everything else. Ends are still not actually meeting, but I can't fix that right now.

I did bake a cake this past weekend. I regularly bake cake since that means that I can put a piece of cake in my lunches. I decided last week that I wanted to make a spicy spicy pumpkin cake. I went looking and found about 5 or so various recipes that all had some aspect that I wanted. Tweaks here and there, mashing things up together.

For a first attempt, it turned out pretty well. The texture is off, and the cake is nowhere near spicy enough for my taste. I used pumpkin puree and applesauce, I want to try with all pumpkin and I want to try making a different variation with only apple and no pumpkin. That one is because a friend sent me a recipe for salted caramel cream cheese frosting and that would be lovely on apple cake.

It's Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Several of my coworkers asked what everyone in that group was doing for Thanksgiving. I'm working. I'm too broke to be able to do anything and when all is said and done, I'm too tired. Between frantically researching and writing this paper, and a mandatory 6 day work week... by the time I get home, I just want sleep.

Anyway, thought I would post that I'm not dead yet. After this weekend, I probably will need to work with my mother to fix her computer, since her computer refuses to send emails to me. her phone sends, but not her computer. ::sigh::
